4 Reasons to Start Training Cardio ASAP

4 Reasons to Start Training Cardio ASAP

March 12, 2021

Cardio (aerobic exercise) is the best way to lose weight and improve your cardiovascular health. We know strength training is beneficial, sure, but getting yourself to raise your heart rate on a consistent basis can lead to an incredible transformation beyond just trimming down your waistline.

Cardio will help you:

  • Lose more weight
  • Improve your heart health
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your mental health

Whether it’s your first shot at it or you’re coming back from a gym hiatus, choosing a workout plan can be overwhelming. Especially if all you’re looking for is to lose some extra pounds and all you see are Peloton ads for thousands of dollars' worth of products.

Regardless, cardio must be part of your workout plan. And the good news is, you can do it from anywhere!

Stationary bikes, treadmills, and other workout equipment are great cardio tools – but if you don’t have access to a gym (pandemic closures) or if you don’t own any of this workout equipment, don't fret.

You can do cardio at home with bodyweight exercises or going out for a run

I know cardio can be tedious and has been scoffed as being one of the most despised types of workouts, but the benefits can still persuade you.

Promotes weight loss

This is why I do it. This is why most people that are in great shape do it - and it’s because it works. You can do it at home on a stationary bike, burpees, rope jumping, or a running a lap around the block (or all of the above).

Cardio is the most effective fat blaster second to dieting. Ask a fitness expert or personal trainer how to lose a few pounds and they’ll refer you to a cardio routine.

Cardio burns the fat by burning calories. What creates the loss in weight is simply the difference between calories consumed vs. calories burned. The bigger the gap, the bigger the loss, and the better your pants will fit.

Of course, there is a lot more to that but to put it simply – cardio burns fat.

At VIIVA, we offer Trim Max which features ingredients that will allow your body to burn stored fat instead of glucose – naturally speeding up the weight loss process.

Promotes heart health

A cardio workout (running, burpees, biking) accelerates your heart rate and makes it pump blood faster. This process strengthens your heart and blood vessels, improves the flow of oxygen in your body, reduces the risk of diseases, and can lower your blood pressure.

An exercise routine you practice 3-6 times a week is all it takes to keep your heart in top shape for years to come. Just go out there and do any form of cardio - dance, run, jump, bike, or whatever it is you prefer, as long as you stay active.

Your heart will thank you.

Boosts energy

Cardio naturally boosts your energy. When you do cardio, your brain releases endorphins that will help you boost your mood and energy.

Endorphins also decrease anxiety and help you cope better with stress. Studies show that cardio is a good way of easing symptoms of depression.

Any activity that gets you moving and raising your heart rate and your blood flowing will release these endorphins and thus your energy and mood will improve. Why not make it a habit?

Improves mental health

Similar to how it boosts your energy, the endorphins released into your body from the cardio workout will also improve your mental health. The workout will increase blood flow to the brain and help you control your reaction to stimulus of stress.

Keeping you feeling happy and healthy for hours afterwards, even if your muscles are sore from the workout itself. In conclusion, cardio is your best friend. It can make you happy, less stressed, and healthier all around – and also happens to make you look great in your clothes.
